A belated happy New Year everyone! It's been a super busy Christmas holiday for us (traveling to 4 cities by land and by sea!) and my making money online activities has been put on hold. Family first, right? :) But now everything's back to our normal routine, and I'm starting my online activities again. In my previous post, I've said that I'm looking for a online money-making system that I can just leave running (auto-pilot). Unfortunately, I haven't found anything legit. YET.
The good news is, in the course of my research, I have found internet marketing (IM) systems that require you to do only one or two things. I have done my due diligence on the said systems and found so much hate on some systems! LOL! The thing is, people who are deriding IM systems just didn't know what they're getting into. Anyway, I'm currently trying out an online marketing system that I think will help me the most. I'm so far enjoying it and learning quite a bit :) Here are some things that stuck to me:
  • It takes money to make money~ whether it's paying for a money-making model, investing on your knowledge, or paying for traffic.
  • TARGETED traffic is king.
  • Change your mindset about selling and promoting (products, your self, etc). Promoting is not a negative. It's just another procedure to get to your goal.
I will finish all the training videos and lessons (more than 55 in all!) and I'll update you all. If you are new to internet marketing or earning online, I highly suggest you read this internet marketing book. It helped me frame my mindset on how to got about earning online in Web 3.0 :) Have a wonderful 2015 everyone! May we all be prosperous in love and finances this year!

As I have noted in my first blog post in five years, making money online IS not impossible. In fact, I have earned more than enough to fund our half of the wedding budget :) Instead of going the traditional route of asking the groom's family to shoulder the expenses, my then boyfriend and I decided to save up for our wedding budget (50/50, in case we will split up while wedding planning, LOL) so we will have control over our entire wedding. Anyway, all of this stuff are in our Davao wedding blog, which was also recently revived.
THEN
I have started earning online in 2006 and continued til late 2011. I completely stopped when I had my second baby in 2012; two kids + online gigs = super haggard mommy. I didn't want to lose my youthful visage for a few dollars so I stopped working online ;-) Anyway, back in 2006, most of the "making money online" opportunities were get-paid-to <insert activity here> systems. Freelancing gigs like writing for other people's websites or making logos, designing websites, etc were just starting to gain popularity. The bulk of my income came from writing articles and running ads in my blogs. But the thing was, if I didn't write (for employers or in my own blog), my income suffered. That was it back then: no work, no pay.
NOW
Fast forward to 2014, the most popular way to make money online for Filipinos is to be a virtual assistant or VA. In the comfort of your own home (no travel time through traffic!), you can earn as much as P30,000 / month ~ enough for a young family with one kid! Other ways to make money online now includes uploading YouTube videos (popular accounts earn millions a month!), making paid mobile apps or free apps running ads, being an affiliate to online stores (so many options now!), etc, etc. But as in 2006, the same is also true in 2014: no work, no pay. Thus, my quest now is to find an online money-making system that I can set up and just leave running. Will keep you updated! :)

..and my last post about Chrome OS is still as relevant then as it is today! Maybe even more. Why? Because the Chrome line of products from Google have taken the world by a storm! The Chrome browser is now one of the popular (if not the most used) browsers in the world, and Chromebooks (which runs the aforementioned Chrome OS) has become the favorite of techies and students worldwide. I'm still waiting for the day that I can buy a Chromebook in computer shops here in my country. I'm already using almost all of Google mobile apps and online programs plus I have a Nexus 4, Google's flagship device for its Android mobile OS in 2012. A Chromebook will make me a 100% gSheep (as opposed to Apple iSheeps, lol). And yes, Google has two OS, which I suspect will be merged in a few years (maybe months?) time.

Anyway, enough Google-lovin' and time for my "make money online" blog lovin', haha! So why am I reviving this dormant blog? Two things: one, Google still sends traffic here and two, there are sooo many ways to make money online now! Trust me when I say I have tried almost get-paid-to (GPT) system out there ;-) I have tried get-paid-to blog, get-paid-to click, get-paid-to answer surveys, get-paid-to social network, even get-paid-to post resume online! LOL! Told you I have tried almost anything, haha! One thing I haven't tried though is internet marketing (IM) as it was quite shady a few years back. Now I'm looking at different IM systems and wow, there are sound ones out there so I might just jump into it! Making mobile apps is in my list too, as well as being affiliates to major commerce sites. Time to teach old dog me some new tricks!
This is it for now. I will try to update this blog once a week (wishful thinking!) but I think it will be more like once a month. Haha! But truly, I'm excited to bring new life to this old blog of mine. I made lots of money with it, and I plan to make more! Lots moaarrr! ;-)

And it's coming early next year!! PLUS it has a 7-second boot time!! Is there any other OS faster than that?? This video below includes a look at Chrome’s short boot time, some of the apps Chrome OS will be able to run, and the operating system’s interface. Google says that if you're a developer, has the right netbook and know-how, you can use their Chrome OS source code and have the OS run in your netbook now. Way cool!

DANG! I was pretty surprised when Google Labs took the beta label off GMail and other popular Google products. But nothing compares to this bomb! After years of speculation, Google finally confirmed they are making their own operating system for computers (netbooks first though). And it's coming soon! Here's what the official Google Blog posted at 9:37pm today:
The operating systems that browsers run on were designed in an era where there was no web. So today, we're announcing a new project that's a natural extension of Google Chrome — the Google Chrome Operating System. It's our attempt to re-think what operating systems should be.

Google Chrome OS is an open source, lightweight operating system that will initially be targeted at netbooks. Later this year we will open-source its code, and netbooks running Google Chrome OS will be available for consumers in the second half of 2010.

Speed, simplicity and security are the key aspects of Google Chrome OS. We're designing the OS to be fast and lightweight, to start up and get you onto the web in a few seconds. The user interface is minimal to stay out of your way, and most of the user experience takes place on the web.
I'm very, very, very excited about this (as most tech-loving people are) and I just can't wait for 2010! The big question is: will this be FREE (it's open source after all) or will they charge a nominal fee for it? And how will Microsoft react to this? Do I smell a Microsoft versus Google war brewing? YEEHA!!
