Most of you know that I'm into paid blogging and also earning by using Google Adsense in my blogs and piggy websites. Sure, paid blogging earned me a lot ($1000 from PayPerPost alone!) but my bread and butter is freelance writing. And then you say, "But Issa, I don't know how to write.." or "I'm really not a good writer.." -- well, good news for you! Freelance work in the world wide web isn't limited to writing! ^_^ If you're a good photographer, you can submit your photos and earn royalties when somebody uses/downloads/buys it. If you're a programmer, there are a lot of people awaiting your services. Listed here are moneymaking sites for photographers and freelancing sites. As for online money-making schemes, come back within this week! I got a rather longish post that will surely give you tons of ideas =) And before I forget it, I must say that getting married and having a grand wedding reception maybe costly but man, if you SPECIFY YOU WANT MONETARY GIFTS, the cash just keeps on flowing!!! I'm not kidding! We did not expect this financial blessing (we expected to start our marriage nearly broke since we were the ones paying for our wedding) and we are sooo grateful about it ^_^ So, if you're getting married soon, do write in your invitation: "Since we are ______________ (give some reason, ours was 'living in a fully furnished home'), monetary gifts is most appreciated." Simple yet effective!

Yeah, I know, the BIG DAY is sooo near! ^_^ After my medical board exam (see related posts below), I plunged head on to wedding planning so I hope I'm forgiven for not updating this blog with money-making stuff often. Anyway, here are the links of our wedding updates (in order of published date) in my personal blog:

Our Engagement Announcement
Davao Wedding Fair (Candor and Bliss)
Our Save-The-Date Cards
Our Wedding Invitation Prototype
Davao Pre-Cana Seminar (just a quick post)

NO JULY and AUGUST Wedding Updates -- very busy with my exam

Guess by now you've heard about Google Chrome (beta) -- the internet giant's open source browser that is made from scratch. If you haven't heard of it, shame on you! This is one of the projects that will make internet a so much better place in the future. Why do I say that? Coz Google Chrome is not like all the other browsers (even Firefox which I love and Opera which is the BEST!!!), it functions much like a computer desktop. So much so that pundits are saying this is the precursor of the much-fabled Google OS that will kill its archenemy's Windows OS :-p If you love reading tech specs, here's a list of must-read stuff (just click) about Google Chrome:

What's it all about? Ummm, you can read the full LENGTHY explanation over at Blogger Buzz or you can read my SHORT summary after this. Hehe! Oh, you're still here? Guess you want the shorter version eh?? ;-)
"Following" will enable the blog author to know who reads or follows her blog. Also, the blog author herself can stay updated with her favorite blogs via this feature. And she can view all her fave blogs via the Blogger Dashboard (or Google Reader). Neat huh?? ^_^ There's also a widget that you can place in your blog to show off your "Followers". It's very much like MyBlogLog or BlogCatalog that shows you the blog's recent readers. The big difference is you can access all the information (number of followers, blogs you're following, etc) via the Blogger Dashboard. If you're a Blogger/Blogspot fanatic like me, you know how important it is to access anything and everything from the Dashboard. Thumbs up for this! ^_^

P.S. For a full list of Blogger/Blogspot features, check their official page HERE!

With good news to boot! I just passed my Physician Licensure examination guys!!! I'm a certified medical doctor already! ^_^ But of course, I still have a looong way to go -- another 3-4 years of 24-hour duties, exams, and another BIG exam at the end of it all. Whew! If I only knew that being a doctor was this hard, I would have gone the medical research way. All I ever wanted was to help the underprivileged, and not torture myself in the process (think literal sleepless days and nights, bone-weary body, meals not taken on time, etc, etc). But I guess, if you want something really bad, you gotta make sacrifices for it.. So here I am, praying that I'll survive the next few years!

Anyway, expect some making money online posts in the next few days =) For now, I'll leave you with some of dNeero's surveys. If you haven't joined dNeero yet, do so now! They have one survey worth $3! You only have to answer the survey, post it in your blog, and voila -- easy money! Payout is at $20 via Paypal, and I have been paid 3 times already. Just click on the lower part of the survey below ^_^ If you're new to this blog, check my moneymaking biz HERE. Happy earning!

So sorry for the lack of updates guys! Was busy reviewing for my upcoming board exam (August) and planning our wedding (October). Yeah, two big events within two months of each other!! What was I thinking?? o_O Anyway, head on to my personal blog (yes, it's ME!) for updates of my life. Was too lazy to repost it here. Besides, this is supposed to be a make-money-online blog right?? LOL! Anyway, here are some interesting posts I found while making my very irregular blog rounds:

The University Kid talked about the importance of anonymity in online biz

ROCKFUSE has a tutorial about making your blog load faster

Joe Tech introduced me to Google's Lively! It's like Second Life =)

Entrecard Blog says you can syndicate your posts to BIG media sites via BlogBurst

Jim Karter Online shared his friend's tactic in earning $$$ via Market Health

That's it for now! And before I forget, it's my 27th birthday today so wish me guys!! ^_^ Oh yeah, expect irregular posts until August 20.. and then I'll be back with a vengeance! Mwahahahah!

They pay their users to upload documents, videos, images and so much more in their site. And when someone downloads your stuff, you get $0.001. Too small? I think not! So GO guys! =) By the way, this is NOT a sponsored post, just would like to share another money-making website with you guys =)

Spyware, spam, viruses -- these are the terms computer users really hate to hear! But have these users really done something to prevent their computers from getting infected with these malware? Like installing an antivirus program or a complete computer security system perhaps? Me, I have always been a computer security fanatic. Back in the olden days of floppy disks (I was in HS when those "huge" black floppies were the rage), I never miss to scan them before using on a PC. Also, I am always constantly updating our antivirus software coz it won't do you any good when your antivirus is outdated. How can it detect the newest viruses then??

Good thing that my two bros (fellow home computer users) are into computer security too. Guess they learned the hard way when one time our PC got infected and all their saved games (100s of play hours wasted!) were wiped out. Muahahaha! Soon after that, we always had the best PC security program installed. Right now we are using ESET NOD32 AntiVirus (the best ever!!!) plus Comodo Firewall Pro. I highly recommend you use these two programs and constantly update them (via internet). Good luck!

PSA is Public Service Announcement dear readers =) Anyway, in our crazy world, scammers will never run out and they will keep churning out crazy stuff to rip us off. Of course, credit cards are usually their target since this is the most popular mode of payment these days. This blog post is quite long but PLEASE, read it til the end so you will know how to protect yourself from the latest credit card scam. Better yet, ditch your credits cards and just use debit cards -- that's what I do! Saves me the hassles of scams and what-nots PLUS I have practicallt debt-free as I can't overspend. Hehe! Anyway, do read on!

Someone I know works at the Royal Bank of Canada and just received this communication about the newest scam. This is happening in southern Alberta right now and moving. Also in the U.S. This one is pretty slick since they provide YOU with all the information, except the one piece they want. Note, the callers do not ask for your card number; they already have it. The scam works like this:

Person calling says, "This is (name), and I'm calling from the Security and Fraud Department at VISA. My Badge number is 12460 , Your card has been flagged for an unusual purchase pattern, and I'm calling to verify. This would be on your VISA card which was issued by (name of bank). Did you purchase an Anti-Telemarketing Device for $497.99 from a marketing company based in Arizona?"

When you say "No", the caller continues with, "Then we will be issuing a credit to your account. This is a company we have been watching and the charges range from $297 to $497, just under the $500 purchase pattern that flags most cards. Before your next statement, the credit will be sent to (gives you your address), is that correct?"

You say "yes".

The caller continues - "I will be starting a Fraud Investigation. If you have any questions, you should call the 1- 800 number listed on the back of your card (1-800-VISA) and ask for Security. You will need to refer to this Control Number. The caller then gives you a 6 digit number. "Do you need me to read it again?"

Here's the IMPORTANT part on how the scam works:

The caller then says, "I need to verify you are in possession of your card".

He'll ask you to "turn your card over and look for some numbers". There are 7 numbers; the first 4 are part of your card number, the last 3 are the Security Numbers that verify you are the possessor of the card. These are the numbers you sometimes use to make Internet purchases to prove you have the card. The caller will ask you to read the last 3 number to him.

After you tell the caller the 3 numbers, he'll say, "That is correct, I just needed to verify that the card has not been lost or stolen, and that you still have your card. Do you have any other questions?" After you say no, the caller then thanks you and states, "Don't hesitate to call back if you do", and hangs up. You actually say very little, and they never ask for or tell you the card number.

But after we were called on Wednesday, we called back. Within 20 minutes to ask a question. Are we glad we did! The REAL VISA Security Department told us it was a scam and in the last 15 minutes a new purchase of $497.99 was charged to our card. We made a real fraud report and closed the VISA account. VISA is reissuing us a new number. What the scammers want is the 3-digit PIN number on the back of the card. Don't give it to them. Instead, tell them you'll call VISA or Master Card directly for verification of their conversation.

The real VISA told us that they will never ask for anything on the card as they already know the information since they issued the card! If you give the scammers your 3 Digit PIN Number, you think you're receiving a credit. However, by the time you get your statement you'll see charges for purchases you didn't make, and by then it's almost too late and/or more difficult to actually file a fraud report.

But not quite! Hehe! Have a great week ahead guys! =)

And when I say "big", it doesn't mean he's older than me (I'm the eldest in a brood of 3). It literally means he's BIG! Hehe! Happy 26th birthday Ya! PEACE! =)

credits: Jeann =)

It's funny that these two competitors' "war" has invaded dNeero as well! I wonder who paid for the mac vs pc survey (err, conversation) below. And I wonder who voted for mac -- I certainly did! I'm a mac-lover and as soon as I got the money for it, I will surely buy! Hehe! =) You can read my mac-lovin' previous post HERE. And below the dNeero survey are two videos of the hilarious mac vs pc commercials (more ads HERE!). Enjoy

Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.

And here's a funny photo to spice up your mid-week! Girls, what do you think?? Time to ditch sweet-talking lying lovers?? LOL!

The HammeRuler is built on the notion of Short-Measure Acceleration (SMA). By cutting down on tool switching time (from hammer to ruler and back) when doing short measures, the HammeRuler makes you more efficient. You probably don't realize how much time you spend putting down your hammer to pick up your ruler, and hammering back again huh? Well, here's a simple solution! =)

Gahh! I guess they weren't able to hide their online tracks very well. Anyway, according to reports, Spanish police have arrested five young computer hackers who allegedly disabled Internet pages run by government agencies in the U.S., Latin America and Asia. The National Police described the suspects as belonging to one of the most active hacker groups on the Internet and said two of the suspects are only 16 years old. The others are 19 or 20.

On the internet, the group calls itself D.O.M Team. I'm not familiar with them, are you?? The five suspects did not know each other personally, but rather just over the Internet. According to the police, one of the group's techniques was to infiltrate Web sites and insert a page of its own. The group attacked some 21,000 Web pages over the last two years, and finally the five were arrested this week in Barcelona, Burgos, Malaga and Valencia.

The Spanish newspaper El Mundo reported in March that the group had infiltrated NASA's website. The group also hacked the Venezuelan national telephone company's page and the Spanish telephone operator Jazztel. El Mundo said it had contacted the group and it described itself not as a bunch of delinquents, but computer-lovers that raid Web sites to show system administrators the pages' vulnerabilities. Yeah right! That's what they always say ;-)

Apparently yes! Which really surprised me coz if this were the case, it will be real cheap and easy to send faxes now -- which is not what I'm seeing. However, technical difficulties in sending and receiving faxes over VoIP hasn't been completely solved yet. Why? Here's what one website dedicated to VoIP fax said:

The main difficulty is that faxes are a different kind of data than voice. Whereas voice data has to be delivered in real time in order to maintain a comfortable conversation, fax data can be delayed somewhat in order to guarantee that it is completely intact. It doesn't matter if some voice data is lost en route, but if this happens to fax data it creates an error in the fax transmission.
Yeah, fax solutions are definitely badly needed to perfect this new application for VoIP. If you'd like to send faxes over your VoIP connection, make sure that your VoIP service provider supports this function. Also, ask them for instructions about how to modify the settings of your VoIP devices (like the ones from www.axacore.com). Usually, just by setting the codec to 711u, some people are immediately able to successfully send and receive faxes. Other users say that they also need to lower the fax baud rate to 9600. Wanna try it out guys??

YES!!! Finally!!! ^_^ I've always wanted an iPhone but I held back after reviews of its lackluster functionality emerged. Sure, I thought it would be nice to be one of the first few people to own an iPhone in our country. But heck, for lacking features that my low-end Sony Ericsson (I had SE T230 back then) phone has, I figured I could wait for a better iPhone, a pink one please! Hehe!

I since got an SE K800i and have been mobile photo blogging with it (check out yes, it's ME!). I forgot about my iPhone fantasy for more than 6 months, and then I was bamboozled with this news from a tech site last week (links clickable!) --

The Apple online store has stopped selling iPhones completely, stating they are currently unavailable. What does it mean? In some way I’m inclined to say “not much.” ... However, since O2 in the UK has stopped selling iPhones and a number of folks have had trouble buying them in stores, we might be seeing a next-gen iPhone in the next few days. Here’s hoping.

Rumors have been swirling about the launch date of the 3G iPhone ... As he did last year, BGR has his hands on an internal memo to AT&T employees forbidding them to take vacation or PL between June 15 and July 12 ... This is leading everyone to believe that the iPhone could and should launch on the 15th ...

YAHOO!!! Or should I say APPLE?! LOL! For sure, I'd be watching this bit of rumor for the next few weeks (only four weeks to go!). If you have any news/tips about the 3G iPhone launch, feel free to contact me. I would appreciate it very much! =)

Yeah, one step! Believe it or not but this hot tip is guaranteed to increase your income -- whether you're earning peanuts or earning 5 figures a month. Curious already?? Then scroll down! And I hope you the advice take to heart =)

The one step that will surely increase your net income?

CUT DOWN ON SPENDING!!!

Yes, boys and girls, it's not a matter of working more or earning more -- but to stop spending on extra and useless stuff. Believe me, the iced coffees and brownies you take on your breaks will eventually add up. Try to live BELOW your means. I will be surprised if you won't have more money after each payday ;-) For more tips on increasing your income, read this great post. And yes, the blogger recommended cutting your spending too!

Here in our country, customer service isn't really that hot a "service". Most of the companies' employees here (even if not in customer service department) will help you when you ask for help in a nice way. However, there are also some who won't give you the time of their day. And I'm sad to say that we mostly get this kind of treatment in government offices. Tsk! Anyway, here's a customer service conversation from dNeero:

Sure, Wordpress has this "for future posting" thingy for quite awhile but WP has never been my blog platform of choice. The learning curve for installing their stuff, customizing my things, etc is just too steep for me! LOL! And so, yeah, I chose to suffer with the lack of scheduled posting (make a post and set the date when it's gonna be published in your blog) in Blogger. Which lead to my erratic postings whenever I'm traveling o_O But that will all end coz Blogger has now scheduled posts!! Whee!! It has been in beta for weeks and a few days ago, Blogger officially rolled out this new feature. Thank you Lord! =)

In other stuff, Google Analytics for Blogger has officially entered private beta! If you're serious about blogging and your site's traffic, Google Analytics is your friend. It has the most comprehensive analytical tools you can imagine to dissect your site. Best of all? It's FREE! =) And now, for Blogger users, it will have its own tab (see photo below) for easy browsing of your blog's stats. So cool!!! I really can't wait to use it! Read all about this feature HERE.

The lesson in all these? Always use a service that's comfortable for you. Wordpress may have lots of features and advantages over Blogger but I have never been comfortable with it. So I stuck with Blogger. It may be lacking in features, but with its loyal users clamoring about it, the much-wanted features soon became a reality =) Thank you Blogger team for listening! It is worth the wait!

I've heard of this rumors for quite awhile but I really didn't believe it. I mean, YouTube and other usual video sharing sites don't offer options for users and uploaders to monetize their own pages of videos. But earlier today, I read on Jim Karter's Make Money Online that there is indeed a way to earn money off them! w00t! =) Here's what he has to say --

I was just surfing the DP forum (as usual) and was spying on the threads. Then I saw a thread saying Earn $40 a day from Video Sharing Websites and Parking. I see at-least 10 similar threads each day. But then I realized that the thread has reached 6 pages of content and many of the old and good members of the forum has given quite good reviews... The author of the thread was selling ebook with a method on how to make money online with youtube and domain parking. I bought the ebook for $29.99 and used the method... In 4 days, I recovered the money back. And now I am making profit of $5 to $6 a day (completely passive). And it was total 2 hours work.

Sounds really good huh?? I will try this soon enough and tell you guys how it went! I just hope this won't go "out of season" soon. Hehe! You can read Jim Karter's FULL post HERE. Enjoy!

Yep, due to insistent public demand, dNeero has made their surveys (you earn money by answering them and posting it in your blog) INTERACTIVE -- that is, survey takers can post their own question (about the survey topic) AND survey takers after them will have to answer that. Umm, not that much interaction (hehe) but dNeero promises it would be more than that soon =)

Was off traveling again during the last weeks of April. This time I went to our country's capital to scour cheap wedding supplies. Also, my family did some sightseeing (Tagaytay, Manila Ocean Park, Malabon Zoo, etc) ^_^ You can read all about my Manila adventures HERE. Enjoy!

And if you help sell their funny moneymaking blog, you'll get a cut! How awesome is that?? =) If you're not familiar with JohnCow.com, it's parody of the famous and high-earning JohnChow.com blog. In fairness, the author/s are really good and I learned a lot of stuff about internet, SEO, online moneymaking stuff from them. Here's what the Cow has to say --

We encourage everyone to spread the word about the sale. If we find the right buyer, and he found us through you, we’ll give you 5% commission on the sales price. Might not sound as a whole lot, but currently we’ve listed the site on sitepoint for a minimum of 25K and a BIN of 50K. If you could sell the blog for us at either one of those numbers, you’d be getting a minimum of $1,250 or a maximum of $2,500 cold hard cash from us. Anyway, here’s the details we’ve put on the sitepoint auction.
JohnCow.com's amazing stats:
* PageRank 3
* Alexa 22,100
* Compete 41,020
* Technorati 1696, Authority 1457
* 382 Posts
* 13,417 Comments
* 47,412 Backlinks (Yahoo!)
* 2,830 indexed pages (Google)
* Average of 40K uniques per month (without social media)

What's dNeero? In the simplest terms, you answer a survey -> post it in your blog -> you earn! Easy huh?? =) And once your earnings reach $20, you get paid via Paypal. This is one of my easiest source of income. I don't need to write blog posts or whatever. Just answer the survey and post it. If you're interested, go sign up by clicking my answered survey above. Happy earning! ^_^

We're hiring

Despite our best efforts, Gmail doesn't yet build itself. So we're looking for good people to keep making it better and better. It's fun and rewarding to work on a product that you, your friends, other people you know (and tens of millions of people someone else knows) use all the time. And if that's something you want to do, now you can learn more about what goes on behind the scenes and apply on our new hiring page.

It's hard to do on a static web page, but we wanted to give you a sense of what it's like to work on the team. Gmail was one of Google's first experimental forays outside of search, so boundary-pushing is part of our nature. We've developed new storage systems (Google never stored large amounts of user data before), new anti-spam systems (using machine learning technologies developed for search), and a new fast, modular, reusable Javascript architecture (Google never ran an AJAX app of this scale before). We try to push product boundaries, too, with lots of storage, integrated chat, and free IMAP -- stuff that just makes things better for users, even if it means an untraditional approach to business. And one of the best parts is that when you go out, people you actually know say, "Hey, I used [that thing you built]. It's cool." (And then they ask you why Gmail doesn't have folders.)Much more is in the works, and we're looking for help, so check out our jobs page and send in your resume.

What's better than the ultra-slim and oh-so sexy MacBook Air? A pink one!!! I'm sure you saw this post coming, hehe! For those interested in personalizing the color and design of their laptops, PCs, handhelds, consoles, etc -- go to ColorWare and customize your machine to your heart's desire =)

Where I've been? Well, I traveled for the last two weeks of March and got busy preparing for my marriage early this week. Read my travel diaries HERE and about my wedding preps HERE. Meanwhile, read what's the latest in the world below =)

And that's according to a scientific study! =) Below is a snippet about it over at Discovery News --

Blogging can help you feel less isolated, more connected to a community and more satisfied with your friendships, both online and face-to-face, new research has found.

The research, from Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, found after two months of regular blogging, people felt they had better social support and friendship networks than those who didn't blog.

Anyhoo, back to the Davao Food Trip.. This series of yummy trips to restaurants in Davao City was organized by Blogie Robillo. The 8th leg, of which I was lucky enough to join, was in AVENIDA -- a restaurant in the ground floor Lispher Inn located in Juna Subdivision, Matina, Davao City. We were 10 bloggers in all (Blogie, Ria, Kuya Andrew, Winston, Tiara, Pearl, Andie, Mikko, my bf and me) and we were served 3 dishes with iced tea (P30).

The first dish was Beef Misono -- beef cubes on top of steaming rice. It was very tender and tasty. I am not fond of meat though so I immediately moved on to the next dish. Beef Misono in Avenida costs P110 (good for 1-2 persons) but our serving was just P35. Cheap! =)

The next dish was Bangus Belly (P90) and this, I ate with enthusiasm! LOL! In our home, we always fight on who will get the belly. And being the eldest, I always give way. Thus, whenever I get a chance to eat bangus belly, I grab it with mouth wide open! Hahaha! =) Avenida's Bangus Belly dish has an Italian taste to it (or is this how Sarsiado tastes like??). It was garnished with kangkong leaves, cucumber, tomatoes and onions.

The last dish was Sizzling Squid (P120) with yellow sauce (or is it gravy?). I love the fact that the squid was diced and very tender. It was served with mixed vegetables. The sauce blended well with the squid flavor so I was one happy diner! =)

Pardon the blurry photos. Blogger does that to photos uploaded in their site. Just check out my food photos HERE =) My final verdict on Avenida? If you want delicious comfort food at affordable rates, it's definitely one of the places to go to! Labsie and I surely come back to scour their menu for other hidden foodie gems. Till then!

How? By being their reseller! Previously, you can earn money by doing surveys and posting it in your blog, and second by referring others (you get a cut from their earnings). Now, if you refer a company or anybody who'll do a survey with dNeero, you get a cut too! How much? Read the survey below =)

And who the hell is he?? Stewart Reynolds is a Dot CA mogul! Take note, that's a Dot "CA" and not a Dot "Com" -- I like this guy already! LOL! He describes himself as a
..gentleman and a scholar, who appreciates fine wine, sunshine, watching people take long walks on the beach and lives for a finely poured pint of beer.
And because of his love for beer, he is giving away $20 to buy yourself and a friend some beer in the pub of your choice. SWEET! =) Stewart runs a website where he teaches you how to make some moolah in the internet. Interested? Then go find out How To Make Money Online by reading HowToMakeMoneyOnline.ca! Also, write a blog post about his Beer Money Contest and you'll have a chance getting free $20 this week. How many beers would that buy?? >=)

Then watch this segment of Mel and Joey (on GMA-7 every Sunday at 8pm) featuring blogging as means of earning online =) Writer of YugaTech.com is one of the featured bloggers. He earns about $5000/month online! That's about P200000 right now. Not bad for someone working at home eh??

A few days ago, I posted that Microsoft is buying Yahoo for $44.6 billion (full post HERE) but Yahoo is not too keen about the "takeover" and gave a curt statement about it --

Its Board of Directors will evaluate this proposal carefully and promptly in the context of Yahoo!'s strategic plans...
I thought Apple will come to Yahoo's rescue (read my post HERE) but rumors say Google will be Yahoo's salvation! Check out the videos below and tell me what you think =)

P.S. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer was very confident talking to WallStreet Journal about Yahoo integration in his company. Is the takeover a done deal then?? Watch the news report about it HERE!

First, what is identity theft? According to Wikipedia, it "is a catch-all term for crimes involving illegal usage of another individual's identity" and its most common form is credit card fraud. Identity theft is one of the reasons why my father refuses to shop online via his credit card. I have assured him time and again, that unless he's been really careless about giving out his personal info, he won't be a victim of identity theft (specifically credit card fraud). But my assurance isn't enough -- I'm sure there's a program or service out there that my father can use so he will feel secure using credit card online. And that's where LifeLock came in.

LifeLock offers a proven solution that prevents your identity from being stolen. They will protect your identity and personal information for only $10 a month - and they can even guarantee up to $1,000,000! Currently, there are LifeLock promotion codes that you can use to get discount when you apply for their identity theft prevention service. This is hush-hush but one of the LifeLock.com promo code you can use is RD32 -- this will give you 30 Days Free and an exclusive discount =) If you're interested to avail of their service, don't forget the LifeLock.com Promotion Codes okay??

Then go to HDTV Reviews and read his "100 EntreCard credits GIVEAWAY" rules! Yes, it's a giveaway and not a contest unlike what all the other websites (and blogs) are doing =) If you don't have an EntreCard account, I still recommend you go visit his site -- he's got good reviews about High Definition TVs and other consumer electronics. Now, to collect my 100 credits.. YEAH!! =)

UPDATE!!!
I just got my 100 EC credits! =) Below is the email that I got. So what are you waiting for guys?? Visit HDTV Reviews now and make a post!

You have been sent 100 Entrecard credits!

These credits were sent from HDTVReviews direct to your Entrecard account and have been applied to your balance. The transaction included the following note from the sender:

Thanks! ;). Drop by Again

IS MICROSOFT'S YAHOO TAKEOVER A DONE DEAL?? GO WATCH!

SME or small to medium enterprises are the starting points of the big corporations of tomorrow. Usually these are mom-and-pop businesses that bloomed. Their major problem, especially when expanding their businesses, is the lack of cold hard cash. Sure, they can always apply for business loans in a bank or lending company, but that would take time. And most often, their application would just be disapproved. The solution? To use a third party like AFSLoansOnline.com for easy processing and fast funding of loans.

AFSLoansOnline.com is a business financing consulting company that specializes in unsecured lines of credit, personal and business loans. With them, your business loans will have a better chance to be approved by lenders because of their extensive experience. Check their site out for proof of their excellent service and excellent results. So if you have a small business needing more capital, let AFSLoansOnline.com help you get the money you need!

This is my SOURCE for this blog post. Read my previous post about Microsoft's alleged bid to buy Yahoo HERE. So, what do you think guys? Is a takeover in the midst?? Will Apple come to Yahoo's rescue?? If you don't know, Yahoo's Jerry Yang is very much in awe of Steve Jobs and has been very public about his admiration. Hmm, the suspense is killing me!!! LOL

From Yahoo Press Release:
Yahoo! Inc. (Nasdaq:YHOO), a leading global Internet company, today said that it has received an unsolicited proposal from Microsoft to acquire the Company. The Company said that its Board of Directors will evaluate this proposal carefully and promptly in the context of Yahoo!'s strategic plans and pursue the best course of action to maximize long-term value for shareholders.

From Nicki Dugan at the Yahoo! Anecdotal Blog:
Our Response To Microsoft's Proposal

As I’m sure you’ve heard by now, Microsoft made an unsolicited proposal to acquire Yahoo! yesterday evening. Since then, we’ve gotten quite a number of questions about what this means for Yahoo!. Right now our board of directors is evaluating the proposal and looking at all of our strategic alternatives, including maintaining Yahoo! as an independent company.

A review process like this is fluid and can take quite a bit of time, so while there’s not much we can say right now, we did want to refer you to this brief FAQ for more information.

Nicki Dugan
Blog Editor

From the FAQ referenced above issued by Yahoo Press:
FAQ: Unsolicited Proposal From Microsoft

Q1. How is Yahoo! responding to Microsoft’s proposal?
The Yahoo! Board is undertaking a deliberate review process. They’re going to take time to thoroughly evaluate the proposal in the context of Yahoo!'s strategic plans. This will include evaluating all of the Company’s strategic alternatives – including maintaining Yahoo! as an independent company. That process will take some time, but the Board will ultimately pursue the option that it believes can best maximize value for our shareholders.

Q2. How long will the Board’s review process take?
A review process like this is fluid, and it can take quite a bit of time.

Q3. Will the Board seek proposals from any other companies?
The Board is going to evaluate all of Yahoo!’s strategic alternatives and pursue the option that it believes can best maximize value for our shareholders.

Q4. What would a deal like this mean for Yahoo!’s users, advertisers, publishers, partners and people?
Yahoo!’s Board is going to evaluate all aspects of this proposal carefully and promptly in the context of the company's strategic plans and alternatives. So it wouldn't be appropriate to speculate about the potential benefits or challenges of a deal. But the review process that's underway won't have any impact on our efforts to deliver value to all of our users, advertisers, publishers and partners – as well as new and exciting opportunities to our employees.

Man, it's a dog eat dog world out there! The latest scoop is that Microsoft is buying Yahoo! According to the grapevine,

Microsoft has offered Yahoo shareholders a 62% premium on their shares to sell the company. Yahoo's latest disappointing earnings announcement helped to depress the stock price, making it a renewed target for a takeover.
If ever Yahoo will accept the $44.6 billion bid, Microsoft could boost its online presence dramatically. According to estimates, online advertising will grow to an $80 billion industry by 2010. If they can get Yahoo, the world's heaviest trafficked website, they can definitely pull in a huge advertising revenue. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said in a statement --

"We have great respect for Yahoo!, and together we can offer an increasingly exciting set of solutions for consumers, publishers and advertisers while becoming better positioned to compete in the online services market."

Took a cool "PhD-certified" test over at Tickle to see if I'm left or right brain dominant. I always like to think I'm left brain dominant given my educational background (science HS, BS Bio, MD). But when I finished this test, I was pleasantly surprised to see I'm balanced-brained! Is there even such a word?? LOL! Anyway, this debunks my detractors who say I'm too logical for my own good. See? I have a "heart" in my brain too guys! Wehehe!

That means you are able to draw on the strengths of both the right and left hemispheres of your brain, depending upon a given situation.

When you need to explain a complicated process to someone, or plan a detailed vacation, the left hemisphere of your brain, which is responsible for your ability to solve problems logically, might kick in. But if you were critiquing an art opening or coming up with an original way to file papers, the right side of your brain, which is responsible for noticing subtle details in things, might take over.

While many people have clearly dominant left- or right-brained tendencies, you are able to draw on skills from both hemispheres of your brain. This rare combination makes you a very creative and flexible thinker.

The down side to being balanced-brained is that you may sometimes feel paralyzed by indecision when the two hemispheres of your brain are competing to solve a problem in their own unique ways.

FYI, RL is real life. Just in case you're a newbie on online slang, lol =) One employee, TJ Riley (Data Center Technician), on his spare time in real life made a chainmail! Yes, that medieval metalwork knights used to wear under their armor. Cool huh?? Below is the finished product of TJ's hard work.
Vital stats of TJ's project is below. You can read his blog post about it HERE =)

* The entire project is exactly 25,829 rings.
* Dimensions: 67 units by 44 units (c. 66" x 27")
* Rings: 1/4" 16-gauge aluminum; the silver is bright aluminum and the inlay uses colored anodized aluminum.
* The entire thing is the traditional 4 in 1 pattern turned 90 degrees.

Hehe! =) If you want easy money, try dNeero. Just answer the survey below, post it in your blog and voila! You'll earn as much as $3 from it. I'm not kidding! I was paid $21 a few days ago after less than a month of posting their surveys. As I said, easy money! =)

We all know that most of a website's income can from ads -- Google, Bidvertiser, Azoogle, etc, etc. Affiliate marketing ads are also the rage these days. Unfortunately, mature internet users are suffering from "ad blindness" -- that is, they don't click on the ad because they know it's an ad. So, how will you earn from every visitor in your site now? AUDIO ADS! Your visitor doesn't have to click anything, the ad just plays instantly if the visitor IP is valid. And the ads are unobtrusive, just 10-15sec of voice-over. Interested? The go to AudioAdHosting.com and start earning from every visitor of your site again! =)

If there's something I love from dNeero, it's the fact that they create surveys with questions from its members! It's like we are a part of their company.. or maybe, they just ran out of questions to ask? LOL! Anyway, college survey again -- this time with questions from dNeero members =)

If you are in the retail industry and is looking for greener pastures, do check out Retail Options! The site has a list of 8,800 retail jobs, all yours for the taking if you decide to do so! Anyway, here are some jobs in retail that I found on Retail Options' site: Area / Regional Manager Jobs, Store Manager Jobs, Assistant / Deputy Manager Jobs, Sales / Department Manager Jobs, Sales Advisor Jobs, etc. As for the sectors, they have jobs from varied retail companies: Child & Baby Wear, Department & Variety Stores, Fashion, Gifts & Jewellery, DIY & Homeware, Electrical & Phones, Food & Drink, Leisure & Outdoor, Accessories & Footwear, Banking & Travel, Music, Video, Games & Toys, Health, Beauty & Optical, and Books, Cards & Stationery. It's really all up to you! =)

Look how proud papa Steve Jobs is!! Yes, he's holding the much-anticipated thinnest notebook ever -- the MacBook Air! Would you believe that it's only three-quarters of an inch thick at its thickest point?? It's so thin that it fits in a manila envelope! In fact, in unveiling it, Steve Jobs retrieved it from the said envelope =) MacBook Air features a 13.3-inch screen and a five-hour battery. It does not have an optical drive for playing CDs and DVDs, but one is available as an option for $99. Boohoo! But, Apple has equipped it with remote software that lets users play DVDs and CDs on another computer as if they were on the notebook. Now that's neat! LOL! And Apple has gone environment-friendly too! MacBook Air uses a mercury-free display. Its circuit boards are bromide-free and PVC-free, and the system uses less packaging than in the past. Sounds great! And the price? Not too expensive either! It sells for only $1,799 =) Play the video below for a "firsthand" experience of how Steve Jobs introduced the world's thinnest notebook. And yes, you can EMBED or use this video in your site. Just click the EMBED button on the upper right corner. Enjoy!
